Edwards Steel has gone "Green" to cut costs, boost our environmental compliance and enhance our reputation. We are aware of the magnitude of the environmental challenges we face locally, regionally, nationally and globally.

The threat of escalating energy costs, water restriction, raw material shortages, polluted air and water, species extinction and global warming looms larger than ever. The other reason to green our operations; not only does it make good business sense, it quite simply the right thing to do.

We have taken the following steps to make our business more environmentally friendly.:

  1. Work within the Guidelines of the Leed Certified Building Program.
  2. Conserve Paper by:
  •      Sending approval drawings electronically or use small size paper
  •      Send As-Builts on electronic computer disc or smaller paper
  •      Update our software programs to replace paper with electronic files
  •      Scan Customers bid set for bidding and view electronically rather than print our own set
  •      When a bid becomes a job, use electronically scanned drawing set to detail job
  1. Buy greener office supplies
  2. Buy greener office furniture
  3. Conserve Energy
  4. Buy Energy efficient office equipment
  5. Use less hazardous cleaning and maintenance procedures.
  6. Increase waste recycling
  •      Paper
  •      Steel
  •      Printer ink cartridges
  •      Aluminum Pop Cans
  •      Plastic bottles, etc.

  2. Boost Heating and Cooling system efficiency
